Pricing Methodology and BillingIn line with industry practice, Trans-Pacific Medical defines a line as 65 characters. A character is any typed letter or other key strokes such as spaces and punctuation marks. Our system does not include function key strokes or formatting inputs such underscore, bold, italic, font sizes, margins and other formatting inputs. The 65-character standard is very accurate since it is not affected by formatting on the page. This approach of line counting results in a considerable cost savings over the "gross line" standard where every line on a page is counted whether a line contains one or more words. Trans-Pacific Medical's transcription work flow system, TransPAC employs an automated line count system for all reports ensuring clearly defined, easily measured, consistent and verifiable results. Authors, Medical Records and Hospital Administrators can audit audio files and transcription documents. At Trans-Pacific, our billing method is structured to be easily verifiable. We start by clearly defining how lines are measured and what the charges that are stated in the invoice. Our application of these methods is always consistent to maintain integrity and produce accurate invoices that reflect fair and honest charges for services rendered. Invoices are produced after the end of the month. |
